His lamentable and untimely death (five days before the period on which he intended to retire from the service) was caused by a fall from his horse when going ""Rounds"" as Captain of the Day the previous afternoon. As a member of society the deceased was held in deserved reputation; a kinder heart than he possessed is seldom to be found beating in any bosom. His truly courteous manners won him the respect and esteem of all ranks. The tenor of his life shewed him to be a consistent follower of the steps of our Divine Exemplar adorning by acts of justice mercy and kindness the doctrine of God his saviour. | | Edition Year | 1851 | | Edition Date | 20 Jan |
