Company, Bengal Establishment, first permanent Assistant Surgeon to the Presidency General Hospital, and Secretary to the Medical and Physical Society of Calcutta. This Monument is erected by his professional brethren in India to mark the high sense which they entertained of his character and of his eminent services, which he rendered in the cause of Medical improvement and research in that country. Born A.D. 1780, died at Calcutta 25th August 1835, aged 45 years.(sic) |
