William Macdougal, of the Bengal Engineers, who died September the 16th A.D. 1807, aged 27 years. To an excellent understanding, and extensive knowledge, especially of Asiatic Literature, which enabled him to discharge with credit and public utility, the duties of Assistant Professor of the Hindoostanee language in the College of Fort William: The united principles of religion, integrity, and honor, which rendered him universally esteemed and respected, and the most amiable disposition and manners, which endeared him to all who knew him.
