Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate , Malabar; Additional Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, South Arcot. 1854: Acting Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, South Arcot. 1855: Acting Secretary to Board of Revenue; Sub-Collector and Magistrate, South Arcot and at Nellore. 1856: Secretary to the Board of Revenue; On medical leave to Europe for 15 months. 1858: Collector and Magistrate; Agent to the Governor of Madras, in Ganjam. 1864: On special leave, extended to 12 months' medical leave to Europe. 1867: Third Member of the Board of Revenue; Member of the Committee for the Examination of Assistants. 1869: Additional Member of the Governor-General of India in Council; Second Member of the Board of Revenue; Acting Commissioner for the Unconvenanted Civil Service Examination. 1870: First Member of the Board of Revenue and additional Member of Legislative Council of India. 1873: Resigned the service, 13th December. (Annuitant).
