Summary of Service  1793: Writer. 1796: Assistant under the Accountant to the Board of Revenue . 1797: Assistant under the Resident at Amboyna and Banda, Dutch Translator to the Expedition under Admiral Rainier. 1798: Deputy Commercial Resident at Amboyna and Banda and Dutch Interpreter; afterwards Commercial Resident Amboyna and Banda. 1802: Out of employ. 1804: Lieutenant-Governor of Prince of Wales' Island. 1806: At home. 1810: Returned to India; Employed on Expedition to Bourbon; Appointed Governor of Mauritius. Bourbon and its Dependencies. 1823: At home. 1826: Elected a Director of the East India Company, 1st March. Died, 16th March 1830, in London.
