CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1833: Writer. 1835: Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate of Masulipatam. 1837: Acting Head Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate of Rajahmundry. 1839: At home on absentee allowance. 1842: Returned to India. 1843: Assistant, afterwards Head Assistant to the Collector and Magistrate, Northern Divison of Arcot. 1850: Sub-Collector and Joint Magistrate, Northern Division of Arcot. 1856: Proceeded on furlough. 1861: Resigned the service, in England. (Annuitant on the Fund, 1860). Died in England.    
Addendum  Allowance from Fund, 1856-1879; disqualified on account of property.
