CommentThese are summaries of the Services of Service of Madras Civil Servants entering the Service from 1740 to 1858. Evidently, several of them continued to serve beyond this date.

The data are transcribed from the book compiled by Charles Prinsep published by Truebner & Co in 1885.

Summary of Service  1804: Writer. 1805: Assistant under the Secretary in the Revenue and Judicial Departments. 1807: Malabar Translator to Government; Assistant to the General Agent for the Salt Monopoly. 1810: Cashier to the Government Bank. 1815: Deputy Collector, afterwards Collector of Sea Customs at Malabar and Canara. 1823: Collector and Magistrate of Chingleput. 1824: Principal Collector and Magistrate of Canara. 1829: At Home on absentee allowance. (Retired on the Annuity Fund from 1st May, 1833).    
Addendum  Annuitant 1833. Died April 26, 1852
