CommentDr Atkinson points out the following:
"... names which I have asterisked, indicating s who may not be Armenians, with varying levels of certainty. It is interesting to find so many different spellings of some names. A number of these inventories may be cross-referenced with the intestate estates gazetted in the London Gazettes.

Another point to make is that a will which was proven in the Court of Judicature may have lain unadministered by the appointed executors for many years, or were not administered at all. With administrations the Court would have directed an Administrator to come up with an inventory, but sometimes this took years too, or not at all. Many reasons would have prevented executors and administrators from carrying out their appointed task, such as being out of the district, or untimely death.

With the inventories what we are left with, is a list of estates that were administered (at least partially) thus enabling an account of the estate to be presented to the court, often in parts, hence the repetition of names and multiple entries."
