Inscription  The remains of John Holme, Esq. Of the City of Carlisle, Cumberland, who died the 2d day of January, 1779, and are here deposited, aged 40 years. This Monument was erected to perpetuate the memory of a sincere friend and honest man by his surviving friuends, as a testimony of their regard for his virtues.
