Detail  At Berhampore, in the East Indies, on-board his pinnace, the celebrated George Thomas, whose military exploits have attracted the notice of, and of late years been a terror to, the native powers in the West of India. He was on his way to Calcutta, and died of a bilious fever of only three days duration. He stood upwards of six feet high, was proportionably well made, and about 41 years of age. He was a native of Ireland; had been in India about 26 years; and died worth a vast sum of money, having left his lady about £6000 per annum.
