Detail  At Madras, Major-general J. St. Leger, colonel of the 80th regiment of foot, and commander in chief at Trincomalé. He rode out in the morning, and returned in apparent good health, but had scarcely dismounted when he was seized with a convulsion-fit, which carried him off in a few minutes.
