Smith, esq. formerly of Durham. While reaching over the taffrail he fell overboard, and, notwithstanding the most prompt and active exertions to save his life, he was unfortunately drowned. It may be useful to observe, that this melancholy catastrophe would have been avoided, had he possessed the slightest skill in the art of swimming. |
