Simpson, esq. barrister at law, and the junior standing counsel to the Company. His death was occasioned by a wound he received a few days before from a tiger while he was hunting at Barackpore. The hurt was at first thought to be inconsiderable, but a mortification ensued, which, soon after its appearance, brought on his dissolution. The next evening his remains were attended to the grave by a most numerous and respectable body of the inhabitants, bewailing the loss of a companion, universally esteemed and beloved for the many estimable qualities he eminently possessed. |
