Detail  Arthur Phillip (not Phillips), vice admiral of the red, was the son of Jacob Phillip, a native of Francfort, who settled in England� [born at London in 1738, appointed in 1781 post captain to the Europe, 60, in the Indian Seas; see also the erroneous Nov 1814 entry, page 507, which says ""Somerset. At Bath, A. Phillips, esq. vice-admiral of the Red, and first governor of Botany Bay""].
