James Perry, of the 15th Regiment of Native Infantry, which served under Lord Lake in his expedition to Delhi. He was severely wounded in the capture of Agra, by assault, on the 10th of October, 1803; and, for his gallantry on the occasion, his Excellency appointed him adjutant and quarter-master of the European Invalids at Chunar. He had just gained his rank of captain, and had the brightest prospect opened to him, when he was seized with a fever, under which he sunk in a few days. |
