Detail  At his house in Chelsea in his 79th year, Joseph Hurlock, esq. formerly governor of Bencoolen. He married Sarah, eldest daughter and one of the coheiresses of Sir John Hartopp, the last baronet of that name in right of whom he became tenant by courtesy of considerable property in Leicestershire, which now descends to his only daughter Anne, the lady of Edward Cradock-Hartopp, esq. of Freathby, Brentingby, Wyfordby, and Burton-Lazars in that county. The Governor's remains were deposited with those of his lady, in the vault belonging to the Hartopp family in Stoke-Newington church on the 15th.
