| Surname | Holland | | First names | William | | Rank/ occupation | Merchant | | Death date | Jun 1802 | | Place of death | Calcutta | | Source | Gentleman's Magazine | | Date | 1802 Suppl. | | Page number | 1224 | | Detail | At Calcutta, of a bilious fever, aged 33, William Holland, esq. merchant, son of the Rev. Nicholas H. rector of Stifford, Essex. Endeared to the whole settlement by the amiableness of his manners, the correctness of his judgement, and his punctuality in the various departments of business which he undertook for himself and others, he fell an universally-lamented victim to the unremitted labours of his profession in an ungenial climate; and many in this country will read this confirmation of a report, which made its way to England some weeks since, with unaffected concern for the premature loss to society of so estimable a character. |
