Detail  Captain Hardinge, commander of his Majesty's frigate St. Fiorenzo. He fell at the close of his gallant and successful action with the Piedmontaise, a large French frigate, which had long been the terror of the Indian Seas (see p.735)� [age 27, nephew of Lord Hardinge the Welch judge. Page 735 tells of St Fiorenzo taking the French ship as a prize to Colombo. 13 died on the British ship, 50 on the French].
