Detail  At Bombay, while on a visit to his brother-in-law, Lieut.-col. Callendar, of the 18th regiment, Lieut. Edward Maxwell Gilchrist, of the 1st battalion 16th regiment of native infantry on the Madras establishment. This gentleman, though only 24 years of age, was present at seven engagements without receiving a wound, and at the sieges of Fort Nugart, Simoga, and Seringapatam.
