Detail  At Saling-hall, near Braintree, aged 58, William Hugh Dobbie, Esq. Captain in the Royal Navy� [Joined Royal Navy in 1783, in 1789 became 5th Mate on an East Indiaman, was present at attacks on Prince of Wales Island in 1791, joined the Suffolk, 74 & was at siege of Trincomalee, 1795, later a Lieutenant, was in a convoy to China, married 8 Aug 1808 Agatha-Shedden, 3rd dau. of Bartlet Goodrich of Saling Grove, 11 children; his only brother George served 18 months as doctor in the 78th Regiment & died in the East Indies, pages 181-182].
