Detail  Capt. Cowley, husband of the celebrated dramatic writer of that name. His death was attended by an affecting circumstance: he had been long suffering under the country disorder, and was ordered a water-excursion. He determined to go to Calcutta, to visit his daughter, hoping to recover, or at least to die under her roof; but he expired in his budgerow, near Dinapore, on his passage from Chunar, in the East Indies.
