Cotsford, esq. who for many years distinguished himself, at the siege of Pondicherry and Manilla, and likewise during many subsequent campaigns in India. In reward for his zeal and gallantry, he was appointed governor of Gungam, and also of Masulipatam. On his return to England, he represented in Parliament the borough of Midhurst, and finished his public career by serving the office of high sheriff of the county of Devon. |
