Detail  At Gauzepoor, in the province of Benares, Charles Marquis and Earl Cornwallis, Viscount Brome, and Baron Cornwallis, K.G. and a baronet, a general in the Army, Lord Lieutenant of the Tower Hamlets Militia, constable of the Tower of London, and governor-general of the British settlements in India, where he arrived in July last.
