Detail  At Bombay, five days after receiving the Address inserted in the preceding article [for Edward West, Chief Justice], aged 38, Sir Charles Harcourt Chambers, one of the Judges of the Supreme Court. This gentleman was a nephew of the celebrated Sir Robert Chambers, Chief Justice of Bengal, who died in 1903. He was formerly Fellow of Trinity College Cambridge, where he preceeded B.A. 1809, M.A. 1814. He received the honour of knighthopod, Nov. 21, 1823, being then appointed a Judge in Bengal; and was removed to Bombay in 1827.
