Detail  Mrs. Cargill, the celebrated actress, who was one of the unfortunate passengers that was lost on board the Nancy pacquet off Scilly, coming from the E. Indies. She was found floating in her shift, and in her arms the infant of which she had been delivered... [lengthy obituary, pages 235-236, includes an account of her performances in Bombay to ""crowded audiences"". The Company ordered her back to England, where her ""protector"" Capt. Haldane was heading. She left from Madras. Her body was seven days under water, and a private gentleman of Scilly buried her with 14 of her ""fellow sufferers and two infants""].
