Detail  At his garden-house, at Madras, Dr. James Anderson, physician-general, and president of the Medical Board, at the age of 72; whose professional character during a course of most useful and highly honourable service, of nearly 50 years, uniformly stood consipuous for great ability, unremitted zeal, and the most ardent general philanthropy. The extensive correspondence of Dr. Anderson, already before the Publick, amply evincs how much his pursuits were directed to the cultivation of general knowledge, and the advantage of mankind.
