He exchanged from this regt. into the 49th at the Depot in Cork in 1853 & has been present with their fortunes in the East ever since, having had his horse shot from under him whilst leading his men up the hill at the battle of the Alma and being also engaged in the affair at Balaklava of the 28th Oct. |
