Remarks  File also includes a letter from a relative asking for clarification of dates of his leaving and arriving at Bombay, his age, appointment and dates held. The Superintendent of Records responded stating the following: John Morris appointed Writer for Bombay CS 19 Dec 1777. He was permitted to remain in England until the next Season. He proceeded to Bombay from Gravesend on the Resolution 7 Feb 1779, arriving at Bombay 20 Feb 1780. He was 12 1/2 years when he received his appointment and under 15 when he actually took up his post. There are also reference numbers to other files and folios written on these pages regarding John Morris.
