Notes  [written first in French and then translated below]. St Pierre Port [St Peter Port], Guernesey 1810. Octr 10. Thomas Lauga the son of Mr Jean Maingy and of Mrs Ann Lauga his wife was born on the 26th of January 1788 and Baptized on the 31st of the same month. Had for godfathers Mr Thomas Mansell Lauga, represented by Mr Salomon Lauga and Mr Thomas Maingy, and for Godmother Mrs Jane Lauga. This extract from the Register of Baptisms belonging to this Parish is given for a true copy by me D F Durand Rector.

This varied accumulation represents the surviving records of the East India Companys management of its commercial shipping activity. The series L/MAR/C/669 and 670 deal with Certificates of Age, which were generally in the form of Extracts of Birth/Baptism from Parish Registers, Sworn Affidavits, Letters from Family and Relatives and Letters from ship Commanders.
