Inscription  In Memory of the Lady Anne Monson born June 25th 1726. Eldest daughter of the 1st Earl of Darlington and great grand daughter of King Charles II. Married in 1757 Colonel the Hon George Monson and previously to the Hon Charles Hope Vere father of her two sons. A Botanist of renown friend of Linnaeus and an Entomologist in England India and at the Cape of Good Hope. She died in Calcutta on February 18th 1776. This tablet has been placed here by the family of John 11th Baron Monson in the year 2014.
