DescriptionThis is the first binder - Ambala (IOR/R/3/2/87). An informal census of British (and other nationalities) residing in Punjab - Ambala district - in the run-up to Independence in 1947.

CommentOnly those born before 1925 have been listed here. Names and ages of children born after 1925 have not been included, but do appear on the form.
Each Form was to be completed and returned to the Superintendent of Police Punjab, Lahore - without delay.
