CommentEIC recruiting in Great Britain was for private soldiers for artillery and infantry units. Transcribed from volumes held by the British Library Ref: IOR/L/MIL/9/100.

A partial embarkation list (pg 303) from EIC ship Protector, of new recruits who sailed out in 1835, and landed at Madras. ship Protector made two voyages to India for the British East India Company - between 1826 and 1831. She was lost in 1838 near Calcutta.
