Assisted in the suppression of the rebellion of the Jat Tribes of the Ravee, in the Groogaira District, in 57. Served with Brigadier Franks Column in the advance on Lucknow, in February 58. Present at the capture of the Fort of Dhowrara, 4th March 58. Served during the operations before, and capture of, Lucknow, under Lord Clyde, in March 58. Medal and Clasp. Stationed at Oonao, on the Lucknow, and Cawnpore Road, from April to November 58, assisting in keeping the road clear from the rebels, during which time had frequent skirmishes with the enemy. Served with Colonel Kellys Column in the operations on the Nepal Frontier, in 59. Present at the attack on the rebels position in the Hills near Booswul, on the 28th March. Mentioned in Colonel Kellys Despatch, 30th March 59. Served with the 3rd Punjab Cavalry in the expedition under Brigadier-General Chamberlain, against the Mahsood Wuzeerees, in April 60. |
