Service  Lieutenant Tweedie served during the Mutiny, 57, 58, and 59. Present at the engagement which attended the disarming of the Native Troops at Benares, 4th June57. (Dangerously wounded.) Volunteered for active service, and joined Havelocks Column at Hauppur. Present at the action of Bithoor, and all the actions, ending in the relief and defence of Lucknow. Served with General Outrams Division at Alum Bagh, including the repulse of the enemys numerous attacks. Present with the 78th Highlanders throughout the operations resulting in the final storm and capture of Lucknow, also with Lord Clydes Army, in its advance through Rohilcund, and storming and capture of Bareilly Medal and 2 Clasps. Served with the Field Force under General Beatson, in the operations against, and pursuit of, Tantia Topee, in the Mhow and Nerbudda Districts, in 59.
