Service  Captain Thomas served with the Army of Reserve, in 42 with the Army of Gwalior, with the 70th Native Infantry. Present at Maharajpore, Bronze Star. With the Army of the Punjab, 48, 49. Present at the actions of Ramnuggur, passage of the Chenab, Chillianwallah, and Goojerat, and pursuit of the Sikhs and Affghans to Peshawur, Medal and 2 Clasps. Served under General Wyndham at Cawnpore. Present at the attack by the Gwalior Troops, and final defeat of the Force under Lord Clyde, 2nd and 6th December 57.
