Commanded the Pathan Cavalry during the Mutinies, from August 57 to February 59. Commanded an attack on the mutineers at the village of Moradungger, between Meerut and Delhi, on the 18th September 57, on which occasion the rebels were driven out, and the road opened between the two Stations. Guarded the whole length of the Ganges River, in the Boolundshuhur District, up to the 9th July 58. Present at the action of Gungeeree 14th December 57. Served under Lord Clyde, in Oude, in 58.
