Service  Major Stevens served during the Sutlej Campaign, 45, 46: present at the battles of Ferozeshuhur and Sobraon. Medal and Clasp: Commanded the Sylhet Light Infantry Battalion, and engaged with the mutineers, in 57, of the 34th Native Infantry, and succeeded in destroying the entire body, for which he received the thanks of Government, 26th January and 3rd February 58; also the great satisfaction of His Excellency Lord Clyde, 27th February 58. Promoted to the rank of Brevet-Major, 26th April 59. Medal.
