Service  Major Richardson, C.B., served during the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49: present throughout the siege and capture of Mooltan. (Wounded, dangerously, 19th September 48, having received 17 wounds.) Medal and Clasp. Received a most commendatory letter (autograph) from the Right Honorable Lord Gough. Appointed Adjutant, 10th Irregular Cavalry, as a reward for these services. Served in Burmah in 54. Raised the Regiment of Bengal Yeomanry Cavalry in 57, and commanded it throughout the Mutinies. Present at the actions of Amorah, 5th March, Thilga, 17th April, Amorah, 25th April and 9th June, Dumooreahgunge, 26th November, Burraree, 28th November; and Toolsipore, 23rd December 58. Brought to the notice of the Commander-in-Chief and the Governor-General in Despatches of Brigadier Rowcroft, 22nd March, 19th April, 30th June, 22nd July, 27th April, 6th August, 17th August, 28th November, and 5th December58; 14th and 24th January 59. Received the thanks of Government, 16th July 59. Medal and C.B.
