Commanded a Troop of European Cavalry, from Calcutta to Allahabad, in 58. Commanded a Detachment of Ferozepore Sikhs, and Sikh Volunteers, with the Sarun Field Force, under Brigadiers Berkley and Pinkney, in 58. Present at the attack and capture of Fort Dehong; also at the attack on Fort Tiroul, in Oude, 21st March 58. Present at the taking of the Forts of Bycepore and Pertabghur. Commanded in each of these Forts after their capture, and assisted with a Company of Punjab Sappers in destroying the Forts and the surrounding jungle. Received the thanks of the Brigadier on each occasion. Medal. |
