Service  Captain Reid served during the Punjab Campaign, 48, 49. Medal. Served with the Naval Brigade during the Mutinies, and Sir Jung Bahadoors Goorkha Force. Present as a Volunteer at the assault and capture of Chandeepore Fort, under Captain Sotheby. Mentioned in Despatch, 25th March 58. Served with the Goorkha Force in Oude, and at the capture of Lucknow. Served with the Force under Sir Hope Grant, from April to October 58. Present at the affairs of Baree and Simree, action at Nawabgunge, occupation of Fyzabad and Sultanpore, and subsequent crossing of the Goomtee. Mentioned by Brigadier Horsford and General Grant in Despatches, 27th May 58, 31st May 58, and 5th October 58. Received Her Majestys approbation of his services.    
Remarks  (Has received a certificate and a Degree of Honor for his high proficiency and eminent attainments in Persian. Has also attained the standard of proficiency in Oordoo and Hindee.)
