Service  Lieutenant-Colonel Reid served in Assam in 40, and for nearly 20 years commanded the Local Artillery, and had much to do with jungle fighting, taking of stockades, night attacks, &c. Several times thanked by Government. Served under Colonel Hannay at the taking of Pashee, in the Abor Hills, 59; at the taking of Kenemah, in the Naga Hills, under Major Foquett, 50 ; and at a severe engagement with the enemy at Kikreewah, also at several attacks on hostile villages.
