Service  Surgeon Ray served with the 2nd European Regiment and was present at Ramnuggur and the passage of the Chenab. Served with the 1st Light Cavalry and was present at the action of Chillianwallah. Medal and Clasp. Accompanied a Detachment of sick and wounded to Ferozepore, in 49, and rejoined the Army with Hospital Establishments. Medical Charge of 8th Irregular Cavalry with Field Force under Lieutenant-Colonel Guise, and acted as Post Master to the Force.
