Service  Lieutenant Randall served during the Mutinies, 57, 58. Present at the action of Trimmoo Ghaut, under Brigadier-General Nicholson, July 57. Present at the assault and capture of Delhi, 14th peptember 57. Commanded the 1st Punjab Infantry on Lieutenant C. T. Nicholson being wounded, 14th September 57. Medal and Clasp. Served with Brigadier Showers Column in September and October 57 in Command of a Detachment, 1st Punjab Infantry, in the Jhujjur land Rewaree Districts, and with Detached Column under Colonel Scott, against the Mewatees. Commanded the 15th Punjab Infantry in the pursuit of the 62nd and 69th Native Infantry, with the Column under Colonel Davidson, in the Googaira District, September 58. Commanded the 15th Punjab Infantry throughout the China Campaign, 60, and was present at all the engagements, from the landing at Pehtagn, 1st August,; to the final surrender of Pekin, 6th October 60. Medal and Clasp. Mentioned by Sir Hope Grant, and recommended to the favorable consideration of the Government of India.
