Service  Captain Prendergast commanded a Squadron of the Mooltanee Regiment of Cavalry detached from Shahjehanpore to the assistance of the Rajah of Powayne, 6th October, and commanded at Powayne during the attack on that place by the rebels under Khan Bahadoor Khan and Ferozeshah, 7th and 8th October 58. Served as Orderly Officer to Brigadier Troup, during the Campaign in Oude, in 58, 59, including the action near Pusgaon, on the 19th, battle of Russoolpore, 25th October, and the attack and capture of Fort Mittowlie, 8th and 9th November 58. Medal.
