Service  Lieutenant Plowden served in the Saharunpore District, in May and June 57. Present at the siege and assault of Delhi, actions of Boolundshuhur, Allyghur, and Agra, and skirmishes at Allahabad and Kanouje. Present at the attack on the Dilkoosha, Secundra Bagh, relief of Lucknow, November 57; battle of Cawnpore, 6th December 57; Serai Ghaut, 8th December 57; Kalee Nuddee, and entrance into Futtehghur. Present at the taking of the Dilkoosha, and siege and capture of Lucknow, March 58. Served in Oude in 58. Medal and 2 Clasps. Mentioned in the Despatch of Sir H. Grant, 6th April 58. Has three times brought his Detachment, 5th Punjab Cavalry, out of action, and obtained the Command of it at the taking of Lucknow.
