Present with the Force under His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief in his advance on the Forts of Ahmaetee and Shunkurpore; with Sir Hope Grants. Porce at Fyzabad. Present at the passage of the Gogra and subsequent operations against the rebels, Trans-Gogra; with the Force commanded by Brigadier Horsford, Trans-Raptee, in 59; at the action at Jerwah Pass, Nepal Frontier, and subsequent operations in the Terai, up to May 59. Thanked in Despatches. Medal.
