Service  Lieutenant Lewes served iu the Meerut District with, tlie Force under Brigadier Seaton, from Delhi to Futtehghur, December 57. Served with the Soraon Field Force, July 58. Served under Brigadier Kelly in the Azimghur District and in the Terai. Present under Sir H. Grant, at the attack made on the rebels at Jurwah Pass, Nepal Hills, May 59. Present at the actions of Gungeeree, on 14th; Puttiallee, 17th; and occupation of Mynpooree; 27th December 57. Bungaon, Rohilcund, April 58; Fort Denain and Ferroul, in Oude, July 58. Wounded severely by a musket ball at Meerut, on the outbreak of the Mutiny there, 10th May 57. Medal.
