Service  Captain Holroyd served with the Army of the Indus, from December 38 to December 42; Army of Gwalior, 43, 44; Army of the Sutlej, 45, 46. Present at the actions of Candahar, May 42; and the various engagements in its neighborhood: Ghuznee, 8th September 42 ; Istaliif, Medal, 30th September 44; and the whole operations leading to the re-occupation of Cabul, 42, by the Force under Major-General Nott. Present at the battles of Maharajpore and Sobraon. (Horse shot.) Wounded at Bance Baban, in Afghanistan, 15th September 42. Maharajpore. Bronze Star and Medal for Sobraon.
