Service  Lieutenant Hearsey served when the Mutineer Mangal Pandy was seized, and the suppression of the incipient Mutiny at Barrackpore suppressed. Served in General Havelocks Campaign. Present at the actions of Boorbea-ka-Chowkee, Bithoor, skirmish on re-crossing the river at Cawnpore, Mungulwar, Alum Bagh, the affair with the enemys Cavalry at that place, relief, and subsequent two months siege of Lucknow. (Severely wounded.) Medal and Clasps. Served in the Sumbulpore District with the Skekawattee Battalion, in 58, 59, and 60. Thanked in General Orders, 17th December 57,
