Served as 2nd in Command of the Bengal Fusiliers during the whole of the operations before Delhi, June 57, including the affair of the 12th of August, under Brigadier Showers, at the assault and subsequent capture of Delhi; also with the Moveable Column in October and November, under Brigadier Showers, into the Mharwattie District, in pursuit of the rebels, capturing the Fortress of Jhujjur, and several other fortified places. Medal and Clasp. Mentioned in the Despatch of Brigadier Showers to the Commander-in-Chief, 4th December 57. Brevet-Majority for service before Delhi. |
